Over the years of being in the ministry and working with many people, one thing seems to hold true for most, it’s the need for a positive upbeat attitude. A lot of folks face many different challenges in life and being on the winning side rather than the losing is a real chore. We can’t help what happens to us, but we can help how we react and respond to what happens to us. Birds can land in our hair, but we don’t have to let them make nests there.
Paul said in Phillipians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” There is a lot more that we can do when we have an ‘I can’ attitude than an ‘I can’t’ mind set. Ultimately people must come to the point where they realize that, I must be the one to implement right thinking, because no one else can do this for me. Blaming others may feel
good, but it does not lead to meaningful life changes for the better. Ultimately if we make enough right choices in a row it leads to a good place however if we make enough bad choices in a row it leads to a bad place. It is impossible to live and think defeated and have any measure of victory.
Proverbs 23:7 tells us, “For as he thinketh in his heart so is he…”. The mind is the battlefield where wars are won or lost. Being spiritually minded leads to life, but being carnally minded leads to death. In our day many people are depressed and anxious, but Jesus instructed us in Phillipians 4:6-7 , “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. Great words to live by with a promise that when we think with the ‘I CAN’ attitude, He will strengthen us for any and all things we will go through.
It's like our phone conversations in black and white. =)
